Newsletter Policy
Our commitment to permission-based, transparent email communications.
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Royal Casino Advisor sends email only to people who have personally subscribed and confirmed their subscription. We operate a strict double opt-in process, include an unsubscribe link in every email, and never buy, rent or import third-party mailing lists.
1. Overview & our email principles
Royal Casino Advisor is an independent UK editorial portal. We are not a gambling operator and do not accept wagers. Our newsletter exists to share our independent journalism, reviews and educational content with readers who have asked to receive it — nothing more.
Every email programme we run is built on a single principle: we only send email to people who have explicitly asked us to. This is permission-based marketing in its strictest sense. We do not send unsolicited messages, we do not bombard inboxes, and we treat the privilege of being in your inbox with respect.
Our practices are designed to align fully with the laws that govern electronic communications and personal data, including:
- the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR);
- the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018;
- the US CAN-SPAM Act, which governs commercial email practice and reinforces our standards on identification, opt-out and honest subject lines.
In practice this means clear consent, honest sender identification, accurate subject lines, an easy way to opt out, and prompt action when someone asks to leave.
2. Users voluntarily subscribe
No one is ever added to our mailing list without taking action themselves. A subscription is created only when a person personally enters their own email address into one of our signup forms and actively agrees to receive our communications.
You can find our signup forms in several places on our website:
- the newsletter section on our homepage;
- the subscribe widget in our website sidebar;
- the newsletter form in our website footer.
Wherever the form appears, the same rules apply. To subscribe, a person must:
- type their own email address into the field;
- tick the consent box agreeing to receive newsletters, updates and promotional communications from Royal Casino Advisor;
- tick the box confirming that they are 18 years of age or older.
We do not use pre-ticked boxes. Consent must be given by an affirmative action — the boxes are empty by default and the subscriber chooses to tick them. We do not add addresses collected for other purposes (for example, a contact-form enquiry) to our newsletter list, and we do not subscribe people on someone else's behalf.
3. Our double opt-in process
Every subscription must be confirmed before we send a single newsletter. We operate a double opt-in (also called confirmed opt-in) process, which works as follows:
- Step 1 — Submission. A person enters their email address into one of our signup forms and ticks the consent and age-confirmation boxes.
- Step 2 — Confirmation email. We immediately send a confirmation (verification) email to that address. The address is held in a pending, unconfirmed state and receives no newsletters.
- Step 3 — Verification click. The recipient must open that email and click the unique verification link to confirm that they own the address and genuinely wish to subscribe.
- Step 4 — Activation. Only after the verification link is clicked is the address added to our active mailing list. Newsletters begin only from that point.
Addresses that are never confirmed are never mailed. Pending, unconfirmed records are automatically purged after a short period if the verification link is not clicked.
This step matters. Double opt-in prevents fake addresses, mistyped addresses, and addresses entered by someone other than their owner from ever reaching our list. It guarantees that every active subscriber has both a valid address and a clearly demonstrated intention to hear from us — which protects recipients from unwanted mail and protects our deliverability and sender reputation.
4. An unsubscribe link is included in every email
Every newsletter and marketing email we send contains a clear, one-click unsubscribe link in its footer. Alongside it, every email also includes:
- our identity as the sender (Royal Casino Advisor);
- our contact and postal details, so you always know who is emailing you and how to reach us;
- a plain explanation of how to stop receiving messages.
When you click the unsubscribe link, your request is honoured promptly — typically immediately. Your address is then moved to a permanent suppression list, which ensures it is never contacted again, even if it later appears in another data source. You do not need to give a reason, log in, or complete any additional steps.
If you would prefer not to use the link, you can also opt out at any time by emailing [email protected] and we will remove you.
5. No third-party list purchases
We never buy, rent, sell, share, trade or import purchased or harvested email lists. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Every single address on our mailing list opted in directly through a signup form on our own website and confirmed that subscription through our double opt-in process. We do not:
- purchase or rent contact lists from data brokers or any third party;
- scrape, harvest or otherwise collect addresses from other websites;
- sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose our subscriber list to anyone for their own marketing;
- engage in co-registration (signing you up via someone else's form);
- engage in list-append practices that add or enrich addresses from external sources.
If you are receiving email from us, it is because you personally subscribed and confirmed — never because your details were obtained from a third party.
6. What subscribers receive
Our newsletter reflects what we publish. Subscribers can expect:
- independent casino industry news, regulation updates and market analysis;
- software provider and game reviews from our editorial team;
- educational content, including responsible-gambling guidance and explainers;
- occasional promotional communications relating to our own publication.
We aim to keep frequency reasonable and inbox-friendly — sending periodically, typically no more than a few times per month. We would rather send you something worth reading than fill your inbox.
7. Data handling & providers
Our newsletters are delivered using reputable third-party email service providers, which act as data processors on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards. These providers handle delivery, confirmation emails, suppression-list management and engagement reporting.
We collect only what we need to operate the newsletter — principally your email address, together with consent and age-confirmation records and the date and time of your subscription and confirmation. We retain these consent and timestamp records so that we can demonstrate that each subscription was given freely and confirmed.
All personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains your rights, our lawful bases for processing, and how long we keep your information.
8. Age restriction
Our newsletter is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Gambling-related content is intended only for adults, and at signup every subscriber must confirm that they are 18 years of age or older by ticking the age-confirmation box. We do not knowingly send newsletters to, or hold subscription data for, anyone under 18. If we become aware that an address belongs to a minor, we will remove it immediately.
9. Email authentication & deliverability
To protect recipients from spoofing and to keep our mail trustworthy, we use industry-standard sender authentication on our sending domains, including:
- SPF (Sender Policy Framework), which authorises our sending servers;
- DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), which cryptographically signs our messages;
- DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance), which sets policy and reporting for the above.
We also practise good list hygiene. We monitor engagement, process bounces and complaints, and remove inactive, invalid or bouncing addresses. This keeps our list healthy, protects our sender reputation, and helps ensure that the people who do want our email actually receive it.
10. Complaints & contact
If you have a concern about an email you have received from us, believe you were subscribed in error, or simply wish to be removed, please contact us. We take every report seriously and will respond promptly.
- Email us at [email protected]
- Use the form on our Contact Us page
- Read how we handle your data in our Privacy Policy
You can also exercise your data protection rights, including the right to object to marketing, by contacting us using the details above.
You may unsubscribe at any time. Whether you click the link in any email or contact us directly, we will remove you promptly and your address will move to our suppression list so it is never contacted again.
